spagyric (adj.) – from ancient Greek σπάω spao “to draw out” and ἀγείρω ageiro “to gather”

In alchemy and herbalism, spagyric refers to the medicines derived from the refinement of plants. Just as the plants are nurtured, uprooted, and transformed, my ideas here will hopefully develop into something healing as well.

In less flowery terms, this is a blog dedicated to my explorations of topics I do not get to indulge in my typical work. I especially like to read and write about animals, disability, ecology, medicine, occultism, religion, and science and technology studies.

The leopard logo comes from the Tractatus de Herbis (1440), which you can read about here.
